On May 25, 2017, reports emerged that a consumer lawsuit was filed against GM for allegedly installing defeat devices on more than 700,000 Duramax diesel trucks. According to the consumer lawsuit, the Company’s Duramax diesel trucks emit between two-to-five times the legal amount of nitrogen-oxide pollutants.
On this news, GM’s share price fell $0.60 or 1.81%, to close at $32.60 on May 25, 2017.
