South Australia-Malaysia Trade Mission Relevant, Notes Alex Kitingan Hon Consul
Alex Kitingan, Honorary Consul of Malaysia in South Australia sees mutually beneficial opportunities for investments and business for both South Australia and Malaysia emerging. This is further sustained and encouraged by the ongoing commitment by South Australia to broaden its trade mission.

Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia – Alex Kitingan, Honorary Consul of Malaysia in South Australia said that South Australia has continued to demonstrate its commitment to deepen engagement with Malaysia.
This year as part of the week long trade mission to Malaysia the 60 delegates led by Trade and Investment Minister Martin Hamilton-Smith and Arts Minister Jack Snelling also included Singapore and Myanmar.
They covered Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Kuching and Kota Kinabalu as part of their Malaysian leg of the mission. Honorary Consul Alex Kitingan also joined together with South Australian Minister for Investment and Trade Martin Hamilton-Smith and delegation on part of the trade mission.
Alex Kitingan noted that “It is very important for South Australia to connect with more regions in Malaysia as this can deepen understanding, initiate and open up future opportunities for both sides”‘.
The focus of the business mission for South Australia were the industry sectors of agriculture, food and wine, defence, professional services, and education, research and development.
Other innovative companies from Adelaide such as AsiaAus Leaders bringing their brand of executive coaching services and the STEMSEL Foundation have also begun to do more business in Malaysia.
Alex Kitingan also said “We will have a new Malaysian High Commissioner in Australia this year and a new Director in the Sydney office of the Malaysian Investment Development Authority. The deepening connections between South Australia and Malaysia will encourage more investments. The fact that South Australia continues to deepen its in-country representations in Malaysia will help to assist South Australian businesses as well as promote investment opportunities.”
