South Australian Collaboration Leads to Middle East Export Deal: Acryloc Achieves International Certifications Leading to Expansion

Australia, February 28, 2025 — As Adelaide, South Australia was declared the hottest city on the planet with temperatures approaching 50° C (122° F) last week, Acryloc, a renowned South Australian heat reflective coatings and paint manufacturer, celebrated a major milestone with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by State politicians and a range of industry special guests, at its Dry Creek (Adelaide) facility. The event marked a trade export deal into the Middle East on the back of Acryloc’s achievement of three prestigious international certifications: ISO 9001:2015 for Quality Management, ISO 14001:2015 for Environmental Management, and ISO 45001:2018 for Occupational Health and Safety.

With the ironic twist of extreme, record setting heat for a heat reflective coating producer’s big day, the ribbon cutting and certificate unveiling ceremony was attended by a range of special guests including the Hon. Minister for Trade and Investment (SA) Joe Szacaks and his Opposition counterpart – Tim Whetsone. These certifications mark a significant milestone in Acryloc’s 30-year history, reinforcing its commitment to quality, sustainability, and workplace safety while paving the way for its expansion into the United Arab Emirates.

Local Collaboration in South Australia

This achievement was made possible through a strategic collaboration with Excelsior Management Consultancy (EMC), a South Australian advisory firm specialising in business systemisation and strategic growth. EMC played a critical role in guiding Acryloc through the certification process, helping streamline its operations and align its management systems with international best practices.

“This is proof that South Australia is continuing to punch above its weight. It’s breaking the idea that manufacturing is dead here in SA”.  said Dan Hadley, Director of EMC and Master of Ceremonies for the event. “This collaboration is a prime example of South Australian businesses working together to enhance our state’s manufacturing reputation on the world stage” Hadley further stated

The audit and certification process was conducted by MS Certifications, Led by Managing Director Stuart Batchelor, MSC is a South Australian-born certification body providing rigorous international level auditing with a focus on industry excellence. By earning these internationally recognized certifications, Acryloc now stands among a select group of Australian companies with the credentials to compete in global markets. Whilst formally presenting and unveiling the certificates, Batchelor was on stage to showcase this important moment. “Today it gives me awesome pleasure…. to present and unveil Acyloc’s certificates – a major achievement for any business…” Batchelor stated.

CEO of Acryloc and OzRoll Industries, Chris Parkinson emphasised the significance of this milestone covering the 30 year strong history of the company: “Through our collaboration with ICP, we are now recognised as one of the largest global coating manufacturers in the world, we’re now beginning to see our locally produced coatings, heading across to all parts of the  globe… including Europe, Asia and the Middle East.” Parkinson reported. The Company has gone from strength to strength since its inception in 1991 through rigorous self-evaluation and improvement whilst using the International Standards as a minimum benchmark.

With support on the day from local industry leaders, association representation and state political figures, the event heard from the Hon. Joe Szakacs MP, Minister for Trade and Investment, who highlighted how Acryloc is bucking the trend of declining local manufacturing. “Not only is manufacturing alive and well in South Australia, but so much of our state’s prosperity, is leveraged from the advancements and innovations made in manufacturing right here.” he said.

Further underscoring the success of the South Australian manufacturing sector, Caroline Field, Vice President – General Manager of ICP Group Australia and Asia Pacific, spoke about Acryloc’s export growth and the role of international partnerships in securing the company’s global footprint. “We have the Qatar Open on the al the Kalifa Tennis Centre and the product on those courts was made right here in this (Acryloc) factory. We like to think that moving forward, the work that we can do in the Middle East, is going to be supported with the efforts which Acryloc have achieved” Field said.

Claire Boan, Mayor of Port Adelaide Enfield, also commended Acryloc for its contributions to local industry and employment. “When we had the opportunity as a council at the PAE (Port Adelaide Enfield) to really look at the Greater Adelaide Regional Plan and look across the city as to what makes PAE really beautiful to us, one of the key things we took out of it was the huge amount of commercial and industrial areas we have in our City of PAE.” Boan shared. Port Adelaide-Enfield holds some of the largest commercial and industrial zoning in Adelaide, including the Dry Creek industrial area. The zone is a hub of economic activity.

Exporting to the World

The export deal on the back of the achieved certification and unveiling ribbon-cutting ceremony symbolizes more than just an achievement. It forms a celebration of South Australian businesses working together to build a stronger, more globally competitive manufacturing sector. Acryloc’s commitment to innovation and compliance, with the support of Excelsior Management Consultancy and MS Certifications, highlights the power of strategic partnerships in driving business success. Ultimately, this will mean more jobs held locally in Australia and a quality product used all around the world. The event concluded with a networking session over light refreshments, giving attendees the opportunity to celebrate Acryloc’s achievements and discuss the exciting path forward.
