Spaceship from Battlefield Earth Book to Appear in Hollywood Christmas Parade

30 foot spaceship from L. Ron Hubbard’s bestselling novel “Battlefield Earth” will appear in the Hollywood Christmas Parade broadcasting on the 16th of December 2016.

An estimated 500,000 people lined the streets of Los Angeles on November 27th, 2016 to watch the various celebrities riding in cars, equestrian performances, marching bands, floats and of course Santa Clause in the Hollywood Christmas Parade. The parade is now in its 85th year and a tradition of Hollywood. Millions more will be able to watch it when it airs on TV as a national two-hour special premiere.

This year, Galaxy Press presented their 30 foot spaceship float from the bestselling novel “Battlefield Earth” by L. Ron Hubbard. Riding on the float was Jonnie Goodboy Tyler played by Aaron Groben and Chrissie played by Lauren Compton. Also riding the float was the cruel alien, Terl. The float was escorted by a group of Scotsmen including a band of bagpipers and drummers.

“Battlefield Earth” has garnered a considerable amount of attention this year topping the charts as the #1 book and audiobook on Publishers Weekly, while the audiobook was also named Best of 2016 by AudioFile Magazine. The characters from the book have been seen across the US over the last few months from Los Angeles to NY to Atlanta, and now as a feature in the Hollywood Christmas Parade.
