Steve Young, FunGig Creator, Explains What Makes a Good FunGig

According to Mr. Young, Funbassadors posting a FunGig should be offering a worthwhile, in-person activity. This could mean sharing a hobby, participating in a sports activity, or any other hands-on activity that can be shared. The Funbassador does not necessarily need to be an expert, just have a little more knowledge of the subject or activity than the Funseeker and be willing to share their experience, access, and time with another while charging a nominal fee.

Mr. Young says everyone’s idea of fun is different so an activity like rebuilding the engine of a ’57 Chevy may not appeal to all Funseekers, but it is a worthwhile activity that some people will consider to be of great value. Others may want to have some private painting lessons in the comfort of their own home and purchase a FunGig that offers this experience.

Overall, the most important quality of a good FunGig is that it is an in-person experience that is worthwhile and of value to the Funseeker. Mr. Young notes that Facebook Groups and Meet Up offer ways for people to connect over shared interests, but FunGig differs by offering shared experiences that only require two people, the Funbassador and the Funseeker.
