Studies Suggest That Some Strains Of Probiotics May Promote Natural Weight Loss In Women

Probiotics, not to be confused with antibiotics, are native beneficial bacteria strains that live in the human digestive tract and promote health in the body by aiding in digestion, fighting off bad bacteria, or benefiting health in a multitude of other ways that aren’t always clear.

Alex Mayfield, a Harvard biologist and Head of Product Development and Research for Cellular Research Institute, a manufacturer of daily dietary probiotic supplements explains:

“In the current American diet, we’re eating a lot of food that promotes the growth of bad bacteria. Bad bacteria love junk food, they thrive on processed meat, artificial sweeteners, pesticide-coated produce. They crave junk, and when you’re full of them, you crave junk. Imagine them as some kind of zombie virus, they kill your energy, cause weight gain and digestive problems, and they make you a sugar zombie. You walk around brainless and tired all day, craving sweets.”

He goes on,

“But there’s good bacteria too, and they want to help you stay healthy. Science has discovered and studied tons of different species and they all have a grab bag of benefits. We have good bacteria that eat bad bacteria, good bacteria that eat toxins and then turn them into something we can digest, good bacteria that even give you more mental clarity, that make you think better. The trick is to get the bad guys out and the good guys in. Basically the rule is that it works in a circle- If you eat unhealthy, you get unhealthy, and you feed bad bacteria, and get even unhealthier. If you eat healthy, you stay healthy, feed good bacteria, and get healthier. When the good bacteria outnumbers the bad bacteria, you’re feeling great.”

Mayfield indicates that his company’s product, Actbiotics, contains a team of good bacteria hand-picked to go straight to your digestive tract and help you regain health.

“They all work together and bring different benefits. We have one species of bacteria in our supplement that some of the women in the lab are fond of calling ‘The Lady’s Man.’ It’s a little joke. This bacteria is called Lactobacillus rhamnosus, and it has been found to help peanut allergies, potentially prevent rotavirus diarrhea, and it help with weight loss in women… But only in women. We’re not sure why it doesn’t like guys, but it’s very powerful for women’s health.”

When asked if there were any studies to prove the effect of this bacterial weight loss, Mayfield added,

“Absolutely. It was in the British Journal of Nutrition in 2013, dieting women full of rhamnosus lost twice as much weight as a placebo group. We’ve found in studies overall that thin people tend to be full of more probiotic bacteria than obese people. There’s a connection to healthy levels of probiotics and weight control.”

The developers of Actbiotics suggest that the best time to take Actbiotics is in the morning with breakfast. One capsule per day is recommended. Though some men and women may receive quick results, a minimum use of 30-60 days has been suggested for maximum results.
