At the age of 26, Leon Crandell owned a successful business, building and siding custom homes in Alaska. As the season was coming to a close, Crandell and his team went out to celebrate a fruitful season.

That night changed his life forever.

The husband and father of two small children took an almost- deadly combination of drugs and alcohol that caused an overdose and a massive stroke. After 10 days in a coma, he woke to find himself without any motor movement in his body.

Fast forward to today, 35 years later. Crandell is still working through the challenges caused by this incident. Because many young kids will make the same detrimental choices, he is on a mission to share his personal story with outreach programs and a book.

“I’ve lived through an experience that no young person should ever go through, but it does not need to be a total loss,” explains Crandell. “All lives matter. Every young person has the potential to change the world in profound ways. By sharing my personal story, I can help young minds decide against drug usage, plan for their future and strive to reach their full potential. To do this, I am hoping to open Division Digital.”

To help pay for the studio’s sound room, photo and audio editing software, rent, construction, signage and marketing, Crandell launched a fundraiser on Indiegogo. There, he hopes to raise $20,000 through crowdfunding.
