Sunsella Comments On The Amazon Alternative To Whole Foods
November 18, 2019 – – Sunsella, a Los Angeles-based Home & Kitchen products manufacturer, is reaching out to the wider community to share their thoughts on Amazon opening a series of grocery stores as alternatives to Whole Foods.
As reported by CNET, Amazon plans to open a new line of grocery stores in California next year. According to the news, the Amazon-branded grocery store will launch in the Woodland Hills neighbourhood in Los Angeles in 2020. Amazon states that the store would be different from Whole Foods and does not intend to compete against Whole Foods, though nothing has been confirmed about Amazon’s grocery store’s name, the range of products it would carry or the price range for these products. According to the CNET report, the new store will also feature conventional checkouts instead of using the company’s own Amazon Go cashierless technology.
“While this news may come as something of a surprise, it was reported back in March that Amazon was in talks to open grocery stores in San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. The California store is likely a part of that plan,” says Mike Law, a representative for Sunsella.
Law continues, “While Amazon does own the Whole Foods brand—they did buy it for $13.7 billion, after all—it is not necessarily theirs. It doesn’t have that unique Amazon touch. Amazon promises that the new stores will be distinct and different from Whole Foods, but we’re not yet sure how. Whatever it turns out to be, however, you can be sure that it will be unique. It is possible that, if the Amazon brand of stores proves to be a success, the Whole Foods brand could be integrated with Amazon’s own store instead of operating under the Whole Foods banner.”
Sunsella is known for their own wide range of kitchenware products that include Silicone Vegetable Steamer Basket, Silicone Hot Handle – Cast Iron Griddle & Skillet Holder Set, Silicone Popsicle Molds, a Leakproof Bento Box Lunch Container, Silicone Egg Rings and more. All of the company’s products are available to purchase via Amazon, though customers may use the company’s own website for purchases as well.
Sunsella has established themselves as a reliable manufacturer of home and kitchen products. In an Amazon review for Sunsella’s Leakproof Insulated Stainless Steel Water Bottle, Kim says that they, “Absolutely love it! This bottle never creates condensation. I accidentally forgot my bottle in the car (previously filled it up with crushed ice), and it was still cold after six hours in 80 °F weather! Some reviews said that it’s annoying when the keychain makes noise while in their car’s cup holder—it definitely is—but if you position the keychain upwards, it won’t make the sound anymore!”
They continue, “I love the look of it, with the blush pink color, so it’s very stylish and not bulky. The only complaint I have is that the spout is not wide enough for me to easily fill it with ice using my refrigerator’s ice machine; I have to put the ice in a separate cup then transfer the ice to my bottle with a small spoon.”
In a review for the company’s Leakproof Bento Box, another customer says, “This really is leakproof! I take lunch seriously and I’m critical of lunch containers. Although I don’t love using plastic; to find a truly leakproof option in a bento box style is nearly impossible. The locking mechanism works—read the directions that come with the container (it tells you to press down on the lid to seal the gaskets before locking the sides). I’ve tested this out with juicy fruit, saucy noodles, stew, and more. I have not put soup in it but my previous tests have been successful—no leaks and no food crossover (who wants fruit juice in their peanut noodles). This functions as well as if it were three separate containers that happen to be attached. Portion sized for an adult lunch.”
