October 28, 2021

CalWOF, the California Wildlife Officers Foundation, is raising money to help in the fight against breast cancer. They have been organizing the Pink Patch Project as a means to bring awareness to the risk of breast cancer and what women can do to stay vigilant and always keep in mind what they can do to manage their risk as best as possible.

All the money made by this new public awareness campaign will bend to the Susan G Komen Foundation, one of the largest cancer charities in the world. These funds are primarily going to be raised through the sale of limited edition CDFW patches. These patches have pink bordering and details, as well as bearing the pink ribbon sign of cancer awareness. Each can be purchased for $15 and all proceeds will be donated to the Susan G Komen Foundation.

The team at CalWOF is proud to be supporting breast cancer research and awareness foundations throughout the campaign. Many of the wildlife officers who work in and with the organization have been affected by breast cancer, whether directly or through their families, and this campaign aims to support them as well as anyone else who has been impacted or might be impacted by breast cancer.

Established with the mission of giving support, security, and peace of mind to the wildlife officers of California as best as possible, CalWOF provides help in a variety of ways, including financial assistance, their K-9 program, scholarships, training, and safety support. They also engage with the community on a regular basis to help with causes that are important to the organizers and the wildlife officers of the state, such as the Pink Patch Project.

The Susan G Komen Foundation is a breast cancer awareness and fundraising organization that was has raised over $2.9 billion towards fighting breast cancer through research, community health programs, awareness programs, advocacy, and more. It is the world’s largest nonprofit source of funding in the fight against breast cancer.
