TANGENT, an All-Ages Science Fiction Horror Comedy Graphic Novel, is Officially Announced

LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESSWIRE / April 5, 2017 / Jon Nwake, a graphic designer, sole proprietor of N.WAKE Graphic Arts and person with a self-described insatiable appetite for creating artwork, is pleased to announce the upcoming launch of TANGENT, a science fiction horror comedy graphic novel that will be for all ages.

As Nwake noted, he has already invested a number of years into creating TANGENT, and he is looking forward to finally sharing his masterpiece with the general public. The story tells the tale of a band of amateur filmmakers who are doing what they believe to be a routine shoot in a remote location in Arizona.

Soon, Nwake said, the group realizes that they are at the wrong end of a cluster of wormholes that transport them from the planet Earth into the middle of a civil conflict within an alien race located 28 million light years away.

“In order to find their way back, they have to find what the locals refer to as the TANGENT, the galactic current linking both worlds together,” Nwake said, adding that he has the story mapped out into five Acts or episodes and the final project may be as many as 208 pages.

“This story is a fusion of Japanese Comics, Anime, Egyptian and Nigerian Culture, and contains subtle nods to different cartoons and science fiction novels I enjoyed growing up.”

In order to help pay for the costs associated with finishing episodes 3 through 5, along with finalizing the print run for the book and paying off colorists who are helping make the artwork look its best, Nwake recently launched a fundraiser on Kickstarter. There, he hopes to raise $9,000 through crowdfunding.

“I have many years of illustration under my belt, and I look forward to giving back to my world one way or another through my efforts towards success here in America,” he said.
