LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESSWIRE / March 29, 2017 / Paul Kittas, founder of Mother Earth Bakery and a huge fan of key lime pie, is pleased to announce that his Key Lime Dream Pie aims to win the National Pie Championship this May in Orlando, Florida.

As a spokesperson for the Key Lime Dream Pie noted, Kittas created his tasty pie by accident six years ago while preparing the food for a large barbecue party. While he tended to the fire, he put a double batch of key lime pie mixture into the refrigerator. When he returned to fetch the mixture, he discovered that it was tasty, light and fluffy.

Kittas was able to replicate what he had made for the summer BBQ party and Key Lime Dream Pie was born.

“This unique pie is made with pasteurized pure eggs and uses a cold preparation process,” the spokesperson said, adding that the generic term for what Kittas created is a key lime chiffon pie.

“Having moderate sugar and moderate calories, this pie is not only delicious, it is almost healthy. Requiring refrigeration, it is a cooling alternative to the flat key lime pie being served now.”

Kittas is looking forward to traveling to Florida to enter his delicious pie in the National Pie Championship in Orlando. His goal is to meet with heads of bakeries in the Sunshine State and find someone who wants to sell his Key Lime Dream Pie.

“During the two days of judging at the Rosen Centre in Orlando, I will meet what is called re-packers and the bakery heads from some of the state’s top grocery chains,” Kittas said.

“I think there is a good chance to leave Florida with some firm handshakes to make pie. That’s the start I am seeking.”

In order to help pay for the travel costs associated with entering the National Pie Championship, as well as pay for the supplies and equipment he will need when competing in Florida, Kittas recently launched a fundraiser on Kickstarter. There, he hopes to raise $20,000 through crowdfunding.
