THERAPISTS OPEN NEW MARRIAGE, FAMILY & COUPLES COUNSELING CENTER FOR KANSAS CITY

Therapists Jared Anderson and Sally Hodges have come together to open the Kansas City Relationship Institute at 4710 South Cedar Crest Court in Independence Missouri. The new facility offers a full range of therapy services for individuals and couples.

Couples near Kansas City who are struggling to improve their relationships don’t have to go it alone.

Now there’s a new counseling resource for couples that are married, living together or dating – with or without kids in the picture – who want to build stronger, more loving partnerships.

Partners can benefit from specialized support such as marriage counseling, couples counseling, individual therapy, pre-marital counseling, sex therapy, relationship and life coaching, couples retreats and intensives and a unique program that reconnects parents with adult children.

Dr. Anderson, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is also a seasoned clinical supervisor, teacher, researcher and author, describes Hodges as the ideal co-founder for the new counseling center. Hodges is an associate member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy who has also studied gerontology, the field of medical care related to aging.

“Our goal is to help couples build, strengthen repair and revive their relationships,” Dr. Anderson says. “We encourage them to see themselves, their partners and their relationships in new ways, which gives them confidence and clarity about the next steps they want to take together.”

And while the focus is definitely on committed relationships, Dr. Anderson notes that a couple is only as strong as the individuals within it.

“All of us need to understand who we are, what we want, and what might be keeping us from living the life we desire,” he explains. “Partners need to become the best versions of themselves so they can bring their best to the relationships they’re in.”

Anderson and Hodges also see the Institute as a place for fellow therapists to develop their skills and expertise.

“Working with couples at all ages and stages of commitment can be a tremendous challenge,” Anderson says. “We hope to bring colleagues together who can benefit from one another’s expertise.”
