TheWoofBook.Com Announces National Bouvier de Flandres Day

January 16, 2020 – – Laguna Niguel, CA – As part of its ongoing series of National Dog Breed Day celebrations, TheWoofBook.com announces January 16th as National Bouvier de Flandres Day (say “BOO-vee-yay dee FLAN-ders”). Bouviers are working dogs and make really excellent watchdogs as well as excel in herding.

Bouviers are large dogs, with males standing as high as 27.5 inches at the shoulder and weighing up to 110 pounds. They are bulky, heavy boned animals, with a tousled, weatherproof coat and a barrel chest. Their large heads, which sport a beard and mustache, make for an impressive and imposing appearance.

Breed Ambassador for TheWoofBook.com Mallory Lahkota explains, “Bouviers want to work. That’s why they are such great guardians and do so well in herding trials. They are also very loyal and smart and even though they are very strong-willed, they are also very affectionate animals.”

Because of their strong need to work, Bouviers do best with an owner who is willing to put in the time to give them the space and opportunity to excel at a task.
The Bouvier de Flandres breed, along with all the dog breeds recognized by the American Kennel Club, has its own group at TheWoofBook.com. Bouvier de Flandres dog owners and lovers can join this group or dog groups of their choice by going to https://thewoofbook.com/groups/BouviersdesFlandres.
