This Gadget For Parents Uses A Smartphone Flash to Project Bedtime Stories Onto Your Wall
Ex-Google engineer Natalie Rebot is on a mission to bring back the love of reading in a magical way. Now her smartphone-compatible storytime projector is making waves in the crowdfunding community after raising over $110k on Kickstarter
New York, United States – December 21, 2016 /MarketersMedia/ —
This month Moonlite launched on Kickstarter and has already quintupled its goal of $20k. Designed for parents, the Moonlite is device that attaches to users’ smartphones and uses the flashlight to project images from a small reel onto the wall or ceiling. The company hopes to bring back the love of bedtime reading for young children and parents alike.
Using the companion app, Moonlite incorporates projections, sound effects, read-a-long features, and more.
“All the words to the story appear on the screen, making it easy to read while projecting the images,” says founder Natalie Rebot. “Reading stories to our children fuels their imaginations and activates the creative side of their brains. They begin to visualize the words we are reading to them, which helps develop their creative intelligence.”
Moonlite is currently the #1 most popular Kickstarter project in the “Children’s Books” category and is projected to raise over $270k.
Features:
– Platform Support: iOS & Android
– Sound Effects: Unique sound sets per story to make the stories a true audio/visual experience
– Page Detection Software: The Moonlite reels are encoded so that when you turn the reel, the app can turn to the corresponding page – making it a seamless reading experience
– Personal Bookshelf: Your personal bookshelf contains all of the stories you’ve purchased
– Book Search: Functionality included to search for your favorite titles
– Turn Page Experience: Pages turn like a real book
– Limiting Blue Light: The Moonlite app was designed to limit blue light emissions, where it can, and displays words with a dark, dim background.
– Coming Soon: Read-a-long (tap words to read along)
In exchange for pledging to the project, backers can choose between a variety of story packs at a special pre-launch price: Kickstarter Link. Each one comes with a selection of story reels and a Moonlite attachment for iPhone or Andriod. Backers can expect to receive their rewards in April 2017.
