Total Weight Of First Aid Shoppe’s Emergency Trauma Kit Reduced To Less Than 8 Ounces

April 18, 2016 – – First Aid Shoppe, providers of high-end survival, first aid and trauma gear and kits to professionals and the general public, today reported that their top-selling ResQue 1st Emergency Trauma Kit is less than eight (8) ounces in total weight. Total weight of the kit, which includes the Emergency Clotting Sponge, gauze, medical tape, safety gloves and antiseptic wipes, is five (5) ounces, or less than half a pound.

“Our goal was to make this kit as light and compact as possible,” says First Aid Shoppe COO, Anna Loehwing. “It’s only eight inches on the longest side, and at five ounces in weight it’s so easy to keep one of these just about anywhere. In the glove box, in a drawer, in a backpack, even in a large purse. The idea is to be ready if an emergency strikes.”

The central item in the Trauma Kit by First Aid Shoppe is the Emergency Clotting Sponge. This is the same advanced hemostatic (clotting) agent in use globally by emergency responders. It is designed to be applied directly to the site of a serious bleeding injury, where the hemostatic agents promotes accelerated clotting. This same active agent has been used extensively in on-scene situations to control severe hemorrhaging and other, serious bleeding wounds.
