Toyota World of Newton announced its participation in The Playmakers Academy with The Anti-Bully Squad scheduled on June 9 at the Newton High School.

Newton, New Jersey, United States – May 14, 2018 /MarketersMedia/

The event is organized by First and Goal Sports and Anti Bully Squad, spearheaded NFL Hall of Famer Michael Irvin.

“We are so honored to be the sponsor of an event that helps prepare young children to develop strength of character and use the skills they need to win in any game – whether it be in football or in life,” Toyota New Jersey statement said.

The football camp will employ the formula that First and Goal Sports has perfected over the past seven years that it adopted the training module. Participants will learn the fundamentals of football including ball handling, tackling, blocking, and catching techniques. They will also participate in agility and speed drills under the watchful eye of trainer Marc Gaudet, the founder of Verified Elite Training Systems.

While the academy seeks to help introduce kids to the game of football, it has a bigger message to share and that is to stop bullying in schools, and how grade-schoolers can play a huge part in stopping the abuse.

Message from General Manager Wally Darwish :  Spread this message “If you see somebody getting bullied, Step In and Speak out.”

Apart from the three-time Super Bowl champion, those who committed to lend their talents for the event are Torrance “Tank” Daniels and Lee Rouson, who both won Super Bowl trophies for the New York Giants in different eras. First round draft pick Shaun Williams of the Carolina Panthers will also be there to help with the drills.

Irvin said that he’s always looking forward to The Playmakers Academy because it brings his two greatest loves together—football and kids.

“The most important assets we have here in America are our kids,” he said. “People are talking about how can we make America great again, it’s not reaching up high, it’s reaching down low towards those kids and imparting to them what they need to make America great again.”

The football camp will start at 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. and is open for children in grade 2 up to grade 8. Registration is still ongoing although the deadline for early registration will be on Tuesday.
