The book, which is recommended for children ages two to five, teaches readers about the subject of friendship and missing people and explores how to handle such feelings.

According to Volken, her book contains three main characters: Trina Shiningstar, who impresses others with her contagious mood; Finnley Funstar, a hilarious friend who makes her snort with laughter; and Sergio Singstar, another star who soothes his friends to sleep using his angel-like singing voice. Her book will be delivered as a part of a package that also contains plush versions of each character, as well as a baby blanket with three-dimensional stars stitched on it. Trina Shiningstar was originally written in German, but has since been translated into English.

“All three loveable characters from the book are available in the form of soft plush toys, so children can play scenarios from the book or have a cuddly companion to fall asleep with,” said Volken. “Infants and young children will love seeing their favorite characters in front of them.”

At this time, Volken has taken her project to Kickstarter, where she seeks the necessary funds to bring Trina Shiningstar to life. In exchange for the support of the public, Volken is offering a wide variety of perks, such as copies of the book and soft star toys.
