TULSA, Oklahoma – October 16^th 2015 – The doctors and staff at Kirkpatrick and Lai Orthodontics have decided to help the children of Oklahoma in a powerful way through the aggressive implementation of their “Giving Smiles, Giving Birthdays” initiative. The growing family orthodontic practice has committed to donating $10 to the Royal Family Kids Camp for every new patient they are working with who decided to start orthodontic treatment.

An organization which has been around since 1990 has been described by many as been the United States’ leading organization of camp and mentor related clubs for helping and aiding children who have been a victim of abandonment, neglect and abuse.

Although the U.S. has been historically known for its overall high quality of life and a high overall average living standard, the statistics related to child abuse are disturbing. In fact, according to the official website of the Royal Family Kids Camp, annually within the U.S. 3.6 million cases of child abuse, neglect, and abandonment are reported. Even more terribly, one of the victims of child abuse, neglect, or abandonment dies every 6 hours due to the abuse they receive.

During an interview with the Tulsa World, it was reported that Dr. Joe Lai has said, “I decided as a company, we were going to adopt this amazing charity and do everything we can to give back by launching our “Giving Smiles, Giving Birthdays” campaign where we donate money for every new patient that comes to our office. The result has been incredible as many children’s lives have been changed, my staff has come together for the good of others and we’ve even had new patients come to the office as a result of us giving back.”
