Two African American National Security Vets Launch Managed Threat Intelligence Cybersecurity Platform

CyberPI has been launched by Bobby Sheppard and Jay Anderson, two national security veterans in Maryland. CyberPI offers managed threat intelligence and investigation to proactively deal with both insider and external security threats enterprise companies and government organizations face daily.

Bobby Sheppard contacted Jay Anderson with an idea to provide Managed Threat Intelligence as a Service for enterprise companies and government organizations. Mr. Sheppard believed that they could do this type of MSSP much better than many of the IT-based cybersecurity firms whose skills and capabilities don’t originate from in-depth law enforcement and intelligence backgrounds, such as those held by himself and Mr. Anderson. Jay agreed and they began as business partners, providing managed threat intelligence and investigation services through their new cybersecurity platform, CyberPI.io.

Mr. Sheppard and Mr. Anderson are using their experience and knowledge gained from over two decades of service in various national security positions and applying it in new ways with the launch of CyberPI. They first met 20 years ago while working as U.S. Capitol Police Officers, a role that both men filled proudly and with dedication. Post-9/11, their careers took them in different directions, with Bobby aiming for a position as a Case Officer with the Central Intelligence Agency and Jay joining the 20th Special Forces Group. Both faced challenges in their careers, including racism and prejudice, but spent years forging new paths and learning valuable skills in spite of their obstacles.

While Bobby did not achieve his dream of becoming a CIA Case Officer, he became a defense contractor working within the intelligence community for the next 15 years. Meanwhile, Jay eventually retired from the U.S. Special Forces as a Chief Warrant Officer. Bobby believes that it is partly his failure to achieve his career goal of becoming a case officer that eventually propelled him to become the Founder and CEO of S3 Global Security Group and to launch CyberPI.

Today, Bobby and Jay are working together again, applying their many years of security training, knowledge, and experience to protect organizations from cyberattacks and security threats. Both managing partners, Bobby is CEO while Jay has taken on the role of Chief Security Officer. They created CyberPI with the goal of providing the very best managed threat intelligence and cybersecurity available.
