Two Workers Hurt In Arizona Accident Prompts Comment From Construction Accident Lawyer
June 28, 2016 – – LipsigLawyers.com’s Thomas Moverman made a statement this week about the growing issue of construction accidents in relation to two men who were injured in Arizona. Moverman stated that he wishes the men a full recovery and hopes that the incident will serve as an indicator of necessary change.
The two workers had been injured when a girder fell onto construction equipment, Fox 10 reported. One man had fallen 40 feet and was taken by helicopter to a nearby hospital. The second man suffered minor injuries. The incident occurred at a location near Bell Road and Grand Avenue in Surprise, Arizona where dozens of girders were being erected for an elevated roadway.
These injuries are far from an isolated incident. According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), 4,821 workers were killed on the job in 2014. One in five of those deaths were in the construction industry. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reports that the leading causes of worker deaths on construction sites were falls, followed by electrocution, being struck by an object, and caught-in/between machinery. These incidents, called the “Fatal Four,” were responsible for more than half (57.6%) the construction worker deaths in 2014, BLS reports.

The firm is currently looking to assist those individuals who have been injured in a construction accident and qualifying individuals may be entitled to financial compensation.
