As a spokesperson for UK Rehab noted, a recent
article
in “The Sun” confirms that some people in the UK have developed an addiction to Pokemon Go. As the article notes, the hit game is destroying relationships and causing people to lose sleep as searching for Pokemon takes over their lives.

Joanne Rowe, an office worker and musician from South West London, admits that she has lost touch with friends due to her obsession with Pokemon Go. Because she stays up late every single night playing, she is constantly tired.

“I haven’t spoken to my mum since I started playing the game,” Rowe is quoted as saying in the article, adding that Pokemon Go has become a higher priority for her than her relationships.

As a spokesperson for UK Rehab noted, there are many other signs and symptoms of video game addiction. These include feelings of restlessness and/or irritability when unable to play; preoccupation with thoughts of the last gaming session or anticipating the next time they can go online; and lying to friends and family members about the amount of time they spend playing games.

Anybody who is concerned a loved one’s addiction to Pokemon Go may call UK Rehab at any time for help.
