UMeWorld Launches K12 Private Tutoring Training and Certificate Program in China

HONG KONG, CHINA / ACCESSWIRE / October 27, 2016 / UMeWorld (OTCQB:UMEWF) is pleased to announce that in collaboration with the College of Vocational and Technical Education of the South China Normal University (“SCNU”), the Company will offer a K12 private tutoring training and certification program to millions of full and part-time private tutors in China, under a newly created business division “UMANTANG”. As previously announced in June 2015, UMeWorld and the College formed a collaboration and established the “SCNU Online Education & Assessment Research & Training Centre”. The successful result of this collaborative research has been the development of an extensive tutor training course with a robust curriculum supported by substantial adjunctive training materials soon to be commercially available to private educators as a certification program through UMANTANG. UMeWorld plans to unveil several new K12 products under the “UMANTANG” brand in early 2017, which the Company believes will totally disrupt the traditional private tutoring industry in China.

This program will be conducted online, as well as onsite, and jointly taught by staff from UMeWorld and the College. Upon completion of the training program and 25 supervised tutoring hours, successful candidates will be certified as qualified K12 private tutors. The certification process is intensive and assures parents, teachers and other tutoring services where successful candidates are employed, that these individuals have the content knowledge, the ability to communicate effectively to their students insuring their integrity to work as qualified private tutors. K12 private tutoring is a rapidly growing industry in China, but currently one without recognized regulations or uniform standards.

After-school tutoring is the largest segment of the non-formal education market in China, totaling $90 Billion US in 2015. It is estimated that 57% of Chinese K12 students avail themselves of 1.5 – 2 hours/day of after-school tutoring, with 40% of parents spending $750 US and 15% investing $1,500 US per year on extracurricular tutoring for their kids. After-school tutoring is expected to grow at a CAGR of 14.28% during the period 2016-2020 in China. This is based on two major factors – the abolition of the one-child policy and an increase in family expenditures on education. China has the largest K12 population in the world and the government’s abolition of the one-child policy will help China maintain this metric.
