Unique Art Show Hosted by the Church of Scientology National Affairs Office Aims to Inspire Creativity and Happiness in 2025

Artists display their uniquely creative works as part of the popular Dupont Circle Art Walk to encourage others to also think creatively about their own New Year’s Resolutions and Plans for 2025.

Washington, DC, USA, January 8, 2025 /MarketersMEDIA/ — As 2025 commenced, the Church of Scientology National Affairs Office in Washington, DC, held an art exhibition in its historic Fraser Mansion in the Dupont Circle neighborhood as part of Art Walk Dupont, an event participated in by local galleries and organizations on the first Friday of every month.

The exhibit featured unique pieces of abstract art to encourage creative thinking about the future. As further inspiration, it featured The Way to Happiness, A Common Sense Guide to Better Living, by L. Ron Hubbard. Artist J. Thomas Wells presented assemblage works inspired by the traditions of indigenous cultures, including Eskimo, African, and Native American communities where found objects are transformed into religious and ethnic icons.

Mr. Wells explained, “Primary in my assemblage work is the discriminating selection of objects. Their unique beauty or mystery is my connection. The shapes, colors, and textures comprise the palette. The process begins with a quiet study to find and develop relationships among the objects.”

Artist Astrid Reeves showcased bold paintings that capture the vibrant colors and swirling abstract forms of nature. Her exhibit includes artwork made with her own fluid art technique that she calls “breath art,” created solely using her breath to push liquid paint into delicate layers and patterns in acrylics and watercolors.

Ms. Reeves shared, “My passion and inspiration is color. Colors make me happy, and I want to convey that joy and uplift others. My artwork is a manifestation of production inspired by The Way to Happiness. I have studied color theory intensively and apply it to my creations.”

Beth Akiyama, Executive Director of the Church of Scientology National Affairs Office explained the theme of the exhibit further, saying, “We wanted to kick off the year with art to help people look creatively at their New Years resolutions for 2025 – to think for themselves and to express themselves in their own unique way. The Way to Happiness provides a common sense guide to living that helps one achieve their goals.”

Art Walk Dupont features art exhibits in galleries, embassies, and cultural centers throughout the historic Dupont Circle area of Washington, DC.

The Way to Happiness by L. Ron Hubbard is the first moral code based wholly on common sense. Originally published in 1981 its purpose is to help arrest the current moral decline in society and restore integrity and trust to humankind. The Way to Happiness further holds a Guinness Record as the world’s single most translated non-religious book in the world.
