San Francisco, CA – November 14, 2017 /MarketersMedia/ —
Based upon a recent court hearing, a group of 19 Millennium Towers homeowners represented by Alexander M. Weyand at the Weyand Law Firm expects their fraud claims against the developers may go to trial in 2018.
“Our clients feel utterly betrayed by the developers,” said Alex Weyand, the Real Estate Litigation attorney at the helm of Weyand Law Firm. “There are serious losses here. The developers need to step up, stop trying to pass the buck and start doing the right thing for these folks.”
The lawsuit is the latest by homeowners stunned to find their condo units have lost much of their worth in a city that has always been famous for their skyrocketing values. In the complaint filed by Weyand, the homeowners single out the developers for allegedly failing to disclose knowledge that the Millennium Tower was settling and tilting. The homeowners say they would have never bought condos in the building if they had known what the developers purportedly knew about the impending damage.
This group of frustrated homeowners also point to the Transbay Joint Powers Authority along with the City and County of San Francisco and seek to recover alleged diminution in value to the condo units arising from the nearby construction of the new transit center. The digging for the $2.4 billion Transbay bus and rail hub is said to have played a role in the sinking and tilting the building has endured.
The multimillion-dollar, 58 stories Millennium Tower has sunk approximately 17 inches and tilted 15 inches since its completion in 2008.
The lawsuit seeks millions in damages.
