Wolverine Studios Support Gamers Outreach To Help Kids Access Sports Simulation Games
June 21, 2016 – – Detroit, MI business Wolverine Studios is happy to announce that they will be supporting the charity Gamers Outreach, which is a 501(c)3 charity that aims to help children in hospitals by providing them with recreation. The company points out that significant research has shown that providing children with entertainment, such as video games and interaction with the gaming community, when in the hospital is very beneficial to their overall healing.
The charity drive is primarily promoted through the company’s website. Additionally, it will be extensively discussed and highlighted through the company’s Facebook page.
A spokesperson from Wolverine Studios says: “Hospitalization can often be a lonely, isolating, and scary experience for young people. Gamers Outreach aims to ease those burdens by providing equipment, technology, and software that help kids cope with long-term treatment. We are so happy to support this important charity and really want to encourage people to helps us with this.”
Gamers Outreach has developed a number of specialized gaming tools, including the GO Karts, which are medical grade video game kiosks that enable hospital staff to provide bedside recreation to children in the hospital. The charity started its work at the CS Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI. Gary Gorski, founder of Wolverine Studios, is a University of Michigan graduate and therefore chose the CS Mott as the first hospital that the company would want to support to receive a GO Kart. Full details are available through Wolverine Studios on Facebook as well.
The company aims to raise $4,000, which is the cost of the GO Kart. They want to encourage people to help them raise this goal in one of two ways. “Firstly, you can simply buy a game from us,” adds the spokesperson. “We are going to donate a portion of each month’s sales until we have hit our goal and can deliver that GO Kart. A second way to get involved is by making a direct donation.” Donations can be made through https://fundraise.gamersoutreach.org/campaign/build-a-go-kart-for-cs-mott-children-s-hospital-sxfhz6gv2m1i.
Wolverine Studios regularly takes on charitable projects, and they are proud of the fact that they have always been able to reach their goals through the continued support of their community. They have launched a video appeal to discuss how people can support their work and why people should help.
