World Famous Architect, Metin Durmaz, Takes His Sagist Group Luxury Custom Made Furniture Factory On An African Tour

World famous architect and CEO of Sagist Group Luxury Custom Made Furniture Factory, Metin Durmaz, recently embarked on an African tour to view on his investments in Nigeria, Kenya, the Congo, and Mozambique, and expand his company’s operations.

The Sagist Group Luxury Custom Made Furniture Factory was founded in 1978 in Istanbul. The company is celebrated for its high-end furniture and specializes in producing customized pieces for large scale projects like hotels, hospitals, schools, and restaurants.

“We are currently one of the leading manufacturers of contract and custom-made furniture in Turkey and Europe. Our three factories total an area of 20,000 m2, allowing us ample space to manufacture pieces for many projects simultaneously and deliver them globally on time, every time,” explains Sagist Group CEO, Metin Durmaz.

“The purpose of my recent visit to Africa was to get on site and oversee our current projects in Nigeria, Kenya, Mozambique, and the Congo in person, also to make new agreements.”

The Sagist Group has previously produced luxury furnishings for Nigeria’s five-star Marriott, Hilton, and Radisson hotels as well as furniture items for three upmarket villas in Lagos and another two stylish villas in Abuja.

Its two hotel projects in Kenya, saw Metin developing sumptuous furniture for the seven-star Glee Hotel and five-star Ritz-Carlton Hotel.

Metin also recently finished the design of four deluxe villas in Mozambique owned by wealthy private individuals and businessmen.

“Mozambique is the apple of my eye. I love the country, its culture, and its peoples. My feelings extend to encompass the entire African continent. Continuing to conduct ultra-luxury hotel and villa decoration projects in Africa is how I express my gratitude as a Turk to the continent where humanity was born,” continues Metin.

Up next, the Sagist Group plans to dominate the DRC market with its newly opened company in Kinshasa. 

“I’m drawn to opulent projects that demand the utmost attention to detail. Our door is always open to African cash investors, who include businesspeople, multi-billionaires, and celebrities, offering them the most premium quality custom made products possible,” adds Metin.

Metin Durmaz trained under Zaha Hadid, one of the most famous architects of the world. And now he’s giving back, by granting full education scholarships to 100 female university students in Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, and Kenya. Some of these architecture graduates will also be selected for a three-year internship under the guidance of Metin.

“We are incredibly busy. Every week another client’s private jet lands in Istanbul for us. My projects are so intense that sometimes I must meet with my clients not only in Istanbul but also in other countries. Now that I have my personal office set up on my private jet, my assistants and I are always on the plane and traveling all over the world,” concludes Metin.
