World Series Champion Houston Astros Shuttle Crew Thrills Fans at Neches FCU

Southeast Texas baseball fans gathered on April 28th at the Port Neches branch of Neches FCU to meet the Astros Shuttle Crew, play games, win prizes and meet Orbit, the Astros’ team mascot.

PORT NECHES — Scores of parents and kids posed for pictures and played games with the World Series Champion Houston Astros Shuttle Crew at a fun-filled weekend event Neches FCU sponsored in a show of community support.

More than 200 people attended the April 28th fun day at the Port Neches branch, where customers mingled with the Astros Shuttle Crew, participated in interactive games, won prizes and shared their passion for Astros baseball.

“The Astros Shuttle Crew brought the World Champion vibe to Southeast Texas and it definitely made the community happy and proud to be part of it,” said Jason Duplant, VP of Marketing and Business Development at Neches FCU. “Our community loves the Houston Astros and we strive to do everything we can to be a positive impact to Southeast Texas,” said Jason Landry, President and CEO of Neches FCU.

The event also featured entry to a drawing for tickets to a private suite at Minute Maid Park in Houston. The winner has not yet been announced.

Landry said Neches FCU is giving away game tickets because “not every kid gets to watch baseball from a private suite at the stadium, and we wanted to make one lucky fan’s dream come true.”

The Astros mascot Orbit also made a special appearance. The event included an array of giveaways, music and a dance contest.

“We wanted kids and parents to spend a fun-filled Saturday afternoon with one of Texas’ most beloved sporting mascots, and enjoy any gifts and games he brought,” Landry said.

Neches FCU sponsors a variety of public outreach and charity events yearly, and several other exciting community programs have already been scheduled for the Summer and Fall of 2018.

Neches FCU’s 10 community branches serve Jefferson, Hardin, Orange, Chambers, Jasper, Newton, Liberty and Tyler Counties in Southeast Texas.
