Xarelto Lawsuit Alleges Drug Caused Man’s Fatal Internal Bleeding

November 16, 2015 – – BloodThinnerHelp.com reports on the latest updates concerning Xarelto bellwether trials and litigation. As litigation against the drug manufacturers Bayer AG and Janssen Pharmaceuticals continues to grow daily, new lawsuits continue to be filed. According to documents, the latest suit comes from a widow who resides in Florida. Her lawsuit claims that blood-thinning medication Xarelto caused her husband’s fatal internal bleed. This tragic story is all too similar to allegations of others involved in Xarelto MDL 2592.

Plaintiffs were relieved when the Xarelto bellwether dates were finally set. Although current litigation concerning the drug is still in pre trial stages, the dates for bellwether trials have already been pushed back on several occasions. This time, however, the dates of the initial two (of four) trials have been set for February 6th and March 13th of 2017 by presiding U.S. District Court Judge Eldon Fallon.

The MDL for these cases was consolidated in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. The third and fourth bellwether trials for these cases have currently been scheduled for April 24th and May 30th of 2017. Because the number of Xarelto lawsuits filed at this time is so large, (over 1,700 federally), only four of the cases are able to be heard during bellwether trials. These 4 representative cases will be selected out of 40 and will be chosen based on which seem most ready for trial.

Allegation found across the board in lawsuits filed cite alleged negligence by Xarelto manufacturers, who did not adequately warn consumer of the dangers associated with the drug, and who released the drug to the market without any corresponding antidote to prevent uncontrollable bleeding episodes, many of which have allegedly led to the death of plaintiffs.

Currently, Marc Goldich, Esq. is working to ensure that anyone who has used Xarelto and has suffered adverse health effects afterward is able to fully explore their legal rights. Like those already involved in the litigation, these individuals and their families may be entitled to compensation. At this time, Attorney Goldich is offering these individuals free legal consultations while the cases filed in the MDL await trial.
