Xarelto Lawsuit Claims Anticoagulant Was Cause Of Texas Woman’s Internal Bleed

March 30, 2016 – – BloodThinnerHelp.com reports on the details of another Xarelto lawsuit which was filed in the Eastern District of New York involving a woman from Texas who alleges that the blood thinner’s manufacturers, Janssen Pharmaceuticals and Bayer AG, failed to effectively warn the public about potentially dangerous risks linked to the anticoagulant. The plaintiff’s lawsuit was filed under case number 1:14-cv-04524 in a federal court.

Further lawsuit details from court documents report that the plaintiff was prescribed Xarelto by her doctor in order to treat atrial fibrillation, a common heart condition which can place patients at increased risk for strokes. Unfortunately, the woman used the anticoagulant for only 5 months when she suddenly suffered from what she claims was a life-threatening internal bleed. She indicates that the bleed left her with long-term medical problems which will require specialized care and will cause her to incur regular medical bills.

In 2011, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration gave Xarelto approval to be sent to market. Because the drug didn’t require monitoring and adjustments from physicians or any special diets as traditional blood thinners did, it was quite popular, providing users with new freedoms. Today, however, the tides have quickly turned as the drug is the topic of more than 2,800 federally-filed lawsuits and another 600 lawsuits which have formed a mass tort program in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Attorney Joseph Osborne understands how concerning these potential side effect links may be to patients currently using Xarelto. He is working to help anyone who has taken the drug and who has suffered from health problems that they believe the drug caused. Affected patients may be entitled to significant compensation through legal action. Attorney Osborne believes that these individuals deserve the important opportunity to explore their legal rights in full. Those who wish to investigate their rights further are currently offered free legal consultations.
