Xarelto Lawsuit Filings Number Over 3,400 In New Orleans MDL And Philadelphia Mass Tort Program

March 31, 2016 – – BloodThinnerHelp.com reports on the rather consistent surge of filings from Xarelto lawsuit plaintiffs. These complaints have been filed against defendants Bayer AG and Janssen Pharmaceuticals (a subdivision of Johnson & Johnson corporation), who manufacture the new-generation blood thinner. Lawsuit plaintiffs now number more than 3,400 in the United States, and are separated into two main groupings. Federally-filed Xarelto lawsuits were transferred and consolidated to form MDL number 2592 in the Eastern District of Louisiana. These cases are being overseen by the Honorable Judge Eldon Fallon and number over 2,800 at this time. In addition, there are more than 600 Xarelto lawsuits which have been consolidated to form a mass tort program in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania by the Court of Common Pleas.

Thousands of lawsuit plaintiffs involved share strikingly similar allegations against Xarelto manufacturers. These allegations name a range of dangerous bleeding events, some of which were fatal, and all of which the plaintiffs claim were caused by the anticoagulant drug. In addition, plaintiffs allege that the defendants were negligent by not properly warning consumers and medical professionals about the dangerous risks associated with the use of their product.

Those who are awaiting what they call justice have found comfort through the results of very similar previously settled lawsuits regarding blood thinner Pradaxa. These complaints also increased rapidly in number and grew to include thousands of lawsuits. Pradaxa cases resulted in a settlement by the defendant outside of court, and many Xarelto lawsuit plaintiffs are hoping for a similar outcome.

Those closely involved believe that lawsuit numbers will continue to grow over time. The plaintiffs are awaiting bellwether trials which are currently scheduled to be heard in early 2017. As they await these trials, Attorney Joseph Osborne is working to help others who have used Xarelto and who believe that they were negatively affected by the drug. He wishes to help ensure that these individuals will be provided with the important opportunity to explore their legal options in the matter. Those affected could be entitled to significant compensation gained through legal action. In order to better assist those interested in legal action, Attorney Osborne is currently offering free legal consultations for affected parties.
