Xarelto Lawsuit Of New Jersey Man Claims Negligence And Exposure to Harm
July 04, 2016 – – TheProductLawyers.com reports on the lawsuit of a New Jersey man against Janssen Pharmaceuticals and Bayer AG, manufacturers of the anticoagulant drug, Xarelto. The man claims that the drug companies were negligent in their duty to appropriately warn the public of potential risks. Additionally, he claims ongoing care for a serious gastrointestinal bleed is closely related to the drug’s side effects.
His case joins the more than 2,800 similar complaints against the drug and its manufacturers. Originally filed in November of 2015 in the Eastern District of Louisiana, it has been incorporated into the multidistrict litigation (MDL 2592) that was created to accommodate the many plaintiffs with common claims. In a similar instance, a mass tort program—representing more than 500 individual cases against Xarelto—is scheduled to appear before the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.
Plaintiffs feel that the drug companies neglected their duty to adequately warn both the public and medical professionals of the potential risks associated with using Xarelto. Lawyers for the plaintiffs expect that individuals will continue to come forward with similar cases as MDL 2592’s cases approach trial.
“Our lawsuits allege that the manufacturers failed to warn our clients about the severe side effects that our client’s suffered from, while taking the drug,” said attorney Laurence Banville, a contributor to the Xarelto litigation updates on TheProductLawyers.com. “We are speaking with families who have had brain bleeds, gastrointestinal bleeds, vaginal bleeding, and bleeding from trauma where hospitalization and extreme measures were taken by medical staff to help save the patient’s life”, Banville continued. “We look forward to fighting for the rights of our clients and pursuing just compensation for the injuries and hospitalization.” For more information about the side effects and how to pursue legal action, contact Banville Law at any time by calling 888-997-3792.
