Xarelto Lawsuit Plaintiff Claims Manufacturers Use Misleading Advertisements For Anticoagulant

February 09, 2016 – – BloodThinnerHelp.com reports on another lawsuit filed against the makers of blood-thinning drug Xarelto, Bayer AG and Janssen Pharmaceuticals. The complaint discusses recent marketing advertisements which the plaintiff indicates are intentionally misleading. The drug, which is currently the subject of over 2,800 federal court lawsuits and over 550 lawsuits in a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania mass tort group, still uses the endorsements of famous celebrities in its ads, which focus heavily on the good and, according to the plaintiff, do not adequately discuss Xarelto’s potentially dangerous side effects.

Celebrities shown in Xarelto advertisements include many athletes: Brian Vickers (a NASCAR driver), Chris Bosh (an NBA player), Kevin Nealon (a famous SNL alumni), and Arnold Palmer (a retired golf legend). Through these TV commercials, each of the celebrities talks about their personal experiences with the Xarelto, which, greatly focus on all of the positives of the new-generation blood thinner.

In his lawsuit, the plaintiff closely examines these tactics and claims that there is a great deal of information missing on adverse health events that the drug has been linked to by several studies, and many individuals who have taken it. He claims that the manufacturers have been negligent in providing adequate information to the public about potential uncontrollable bleeding episodes, which may be caused by the blood thinner.

Several studies done on Xarelto have shown that users who switch from traditional blood thinners to the newer anticoagulant may be at increased risk for stomach and eye bleeds. Plaintiffs involved in the many lawsuits filed against Bayer and Janssen allege that the drug caused dangerous bleeding episodes, some of which proved fatal.

Xarelto lawsuits which were federally-filed have been consolidated by the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation to form MDL No. 2592 and are being overseen in the Eastern District of Louisiana by Judge Eldon Fallon. Their numbers have skyrocketed since the initial formation of the MDL, and many believe that as the cases await trial preparations, they will continue to increase in number. For this reason, Attorney Joseph Osborne is working to help ensure that everyone who believes they were negatively affected by the blood thinner will have the opportunity of fully investigate their legal rights. At this time, Attorney Osborne is offering complimentary Xarelto consultations for those who have been affected by the drug.
