Xarelto Lawsuit Plaintiff Claims Manufacturers Used Misleading Television Ads For Blood Thinner

March 25, 2016 – – BloodThinnerHelp.com reports on another lawsuit which was filed against Johnson & Johnson subsidiary Janssen Pharmaceuticals and Bayer AG; the manufacturers of new-generation anticoagulant Xarelto. Within the complaint, the plaintiff indicates that they believe the defendants used misleading marketing tactics in order to sell their product. This plaintiff is not the only one to file a lawsuit concerning Xarelto.

The drug has quickly become the topic of over 2,800 federally-filed lawsuits as well as more than 600 additional lawsuits which were formed into a mass tort program by the Court of Common Pleas in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Lawsuits which were federally-filed were consolidated by the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation to form MDL number 2592 in Eastern Louisiana, and are being overseen by the Honorable Judge Eldon Fallon.

Some of the television advertisements for Xarelto feature endorsements from well-known celebrities and athletes, including Brian Vickers of NASCAR, Chris Bosh of Miami Heat, Kevin Nealon formerly an SNL actor, and golf legend Arnold Palmer. Chris Bosh reportedly became a spokesperson after using the drug to prevent blood clots following an injury. In each of these television advertisements, well-known individuals talk about the blood thinner and its benefits, yet, according to the claims of the plaintiff in this lawsuit, they neglect to properly address what many patients have come to consider dangerous side effect risks allegedly linked to the drug.

Today, Xarelto lawsuit numbers are in the thousands, and as these plaintiffs await trial, many of those involved believe that additional lawsuit complaints will continue to be filed. While those involved await bellwether trials currently set for early 2017, Attorney Joseph Osborne is working to help anyone who believes that they have suffered from adverse health events after taking the blood thinner. He hopes to help ensure that these patients will be given the opportunity to fully explore their legal rights. Affected parties could be eligible for significant compensation gained through legal action. At this time, Attorney Osborne is offering complimentary legal consultations for those affected.
