Xarelto Lawsuit Plaintiffs Involved In Federal Multidistrict Litigation No. 2592 See Filings Surpass 2,800

April 25, 2016 – – BloodThinnerHelp.com comments on recent reports which indicate that Xarelto lawsuit filings in multidistrict litigation number 2592 continue to increase in number, and have now surpassed 2,800 cases. The plaintiffs involved in the MDL which is currently being overseen by the Honorable U.S. District Judge Eldon Fallon all similarly allege that new-generation, anticoagulant drug Xarelto can cause increased risk for sudden and severe uncontrollable bleeding events among patients taking it, some of which have proven fatal.

Despite its initial booming popularity, Xarelto now seems to be considered the most dangerous blood thinner currently available by plaintiffs. The drug has been the recipient of two “black box” warnings from the FDA, which are the most strict warnings the agency is able to give a product before completely removing it from the market for public sale.

The FDA approved Xarelto in 2011 to treat patients who were at increased risk for blood clot development, which included those recovering from knee and hip surgeries, as well as those suffering from pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis, and atrial fibrillation.

The plaintiffs who have filed federal cases against Xarelto have had their lawsuits transferred and consolidated to a single court in order to help streamline the litigation process. This transfer was possible because of the strikingly similar allegations coming from each plaintiff, and because all cases were filed against the same two defendants: Xarelto manufacturers Bayer AG and Johnson & Johnson subsidiary Janssen Pharmaceuticals. Bellwether trials for these cases are currently scheduled to begin in early 2017.

As these cases continue to undergo preparation for bellwether trials, many of those closely involved expect that filing numbers will continue to grow. As time progresses, Attorney Joseph Osborne has been working to assist other patients who have used Xarelto and who believe that the drug has negatively affected their health. He hopes to ensure that affected patients will be provided with the important opportunity to investigate their legal rights in the matter fully. These individuals could be entitled to significant compensation gained through legal action. To better assist those wanting to explore their rights further, Attorney Osborne is now offering complimentary legal consultations to qualified parties.
