Xarelto Side Effects Lawsuit: Study Suggests Drug Could Be Linked To Eye Bleeding

July 31, 2015 – – A new study published in the June edition of JAMA Ophthalmology suggests that Xarelto could lead to internal bleeding of the eye, according to BloodThinnerHelp.com.

The study was conducted by Dr. Judy H. Jun and Dr. John C. Hwang who noticed that several of their patients had suffered a form of internal bleeding called a vitreous hemorrhage while switching from warfarin to rivaroxaban.

The study notes that the risk of vitreous hemorrhage may be heightened during a period when a patient is transitioning from the use of warfarin to rivaroxaban.

This is one of several recent publications which have suggested a link between the use of Xarelto and dangerous internal bleeding side effects.

Xarelto: A New Type of Blood Thinner

Xarelto (rivaroxaban) is a new type of prescription blood thinner known as a Novel Oral Anticoagulant (NOAC) and is commonly prescribed to patients for the prevention of blood clots and treatment of other related medical conditions.

While Xarelto has had major success since its debut in the US market, several recently published studies have linked the drug to dangerous side effects including internal bleeding.

Legal Action Taken Against Drug Manufacturers

As a result of the revealing studies, many people across the country who may have been harmed by Xarelto have filed lawsuits against the companies responsible for manufacturing and distributing the drug in the US.

Stephen A. Sheller, Esq. commented, “The total number of lawsuits filed in relation to Xarelo side effects has grown exponentially over the last few months which is in part due to studies like the one performed by Dr. Jun and Dr. Hwang.”

Sheller is a sponsor of BloodThinnerHelp.com and represents both those who wish to file a Xarelto side effects lawsuit.
