Pennsylvania Xarelto Lawsuits Form Mass Tort Group Sharing Common Allegations Regarding Uncontrollable Bleeding

March 07, 2016 – – BloodThinnerHelp.com reports on the growing Xarelto lawsuit numbers which were consolidated to form a mass tort group in Philadelphia Pennsylvania by the Court of Common Pleas. The lawsuits have been filed against the same defendants: Bayer AG and Janssen Pharmaceuticals, (a subdivision of Johnson & Johnson corporation). These companies manufacture Xarelto in America as well as overseas.

Plaintiffs filing lawsuits also share common claims that blood-thinning drug Xarelto can put patients at heightened risk for sudden dangerous bleeding episodes and additional potentially severe effects. Currently, the lawsuits consolidated in this mass tort group have surpassed 550 in number. The latest reports state that they are still in pretrial and discovery stages and that it is still possible for additional lawsuits to be filed to join them.

This mass tort group of Xarelto lawsuits is the smaller of two consolidated groups. There is another group of more than 2,800 Xarelto lawsuits which have been consolidated by the U.S. Judicial Panel for Multidistrict Litigation to from MDL No. 2592 in Eastern Louisiana. This consolidation was made possible because all lawsuit filings contained common allegations against the same defendants. Plaintiffs across the board agree that these manufacturers acted with recklessness and negligence by releasing Xarelto for public consumption without providing a warning of the potentially significant dangers of the drug.

Since its initial U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval, Xarelto has now been the recipient of two ‘black box’ warnings by the FDA. These warnings are the most strict warnings possible for a product to receive before it is completely pulled from the market.

At this time, Attorney Joseph Osborne is working to help ensure that anyone who feels they may have been negatively affected after using Xarelto will be provided the important opportunity to investigate their legal rights fully. Patients who have taken the anticoagulant and who have also suffered from health problems could be entitled to legal action and substantial compensation. Attorney Osborne hopes to help those looking to pursue justice by offering free legal consultations to affected individuals at this time.
