First Aid Shoppe’s Specialized Trauma Kit Being Adopted By Extreme Sports Enthusiasts

March 18, 2016 – – Today First Aid Shoppe reported that demographic sales info shows their Emergency Trauma Kit is being adopted in large numbers by extreme sports enthusiasts. The kit features an Advanced Clotting Sponge, which is a single-use mesh pouch that stops serious bleeding. It is intended to treat serious injuries that occur far from medical facilities, with the intention of stabilizing the victim until help can reach the scene, or the victim can be transported to the appropriate care facility. The Advanced Clotting Sponge in the kit promotes clotting within minutes of application. The same clotting sponge with the same active agent is used in the fields of Healthcare, Law Enforcement, the Military, Special Operations units and so forth.

“We tell people this isn’t an average first aid kit,” says First Aid Shoppe COO, Anna Loehwing. “Not just some band-aids and some a little bactine, like you might keep under the sink. This is a first aid kit for serious injuries. We’re finding that people who engage in extreme sports and similar activities are getting these kits to have with them when they’re out engaged in these activities with high potential for injury. We made the kit small and easy to carry, yet packed it with everything you need to handle serious trauma.”

The Trauma Kit comes with other items needed to treat serious bleeding injuries, such as antiseptic gloves and wipes, gauze bandages and medical tape. All items come in durable nylon kit bag with an easy-open, heavy duty zipper and a locking hook.

“The kit is compact and perfect if you’re an extreme sports enthusiast or outdoorsman,” says Ms. Loehwing. “And it has just what you need to handle a serious injury until help can arrive – a real concern for user that are far off the beaten path. It could be the thing that saves your life.”

The trauma kit from First id Shoppe is available through multiple outlets. Sales to those who consider themselves extreme sports enthusiasts have been rising.
