California Man Airlifted To Hospital Following E-Cig Explosion, Prompts Potential E-Cigarette Explosion Lawsuit Case
July 02, 2016 – – LipsigLawyers.com’s Marc Freund recently commented on a development in Apple Valley, California where a local man sustained severe undisclosed facial injuries after his e-cigarette exploded during use. Freund wishes the man a complete and speedy recovery from his injuries and hopes he pursues legal justice for his damages. Attorney Freund notes that the occurrence of e-cigarette explosions has increased in frequency dramatically in recent months, and consumers must be made aware of the potential dangers that the devices present.
According to a local news report from VVNG.com, a local California man was airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center after he sustained severe trauma to his face. The 40-year-old man was injured on June 22nd and called for emergency help. According to a local Police Sergeant, in this part of California, they are averaging a call of this nature at least once a week.
This incident marks the 20th e-cigarette explosion in California, and the 200th reported e-cig explosion to-date, as reported by TheProductLawyers.com. California has the highest total e-cig explosions of any U.S. state and represents 10 percent of all reported e-cigarette explosions. Earlier in 2016, a Los Angeles woman was awarded $1,900,000 in compensation for damages that she sustained in a prior incident, which included second and third-degree burns to her legs after her e-cig exploded while charging in her car.
The June 22nd explosion also marks the 134th e-cigarette explosion in the United States, 59 of which, have occurred on the West Coast, representing nearly 30 % of all reported global e-cigarette incidents to date. Additionally, this e-cig explosion is the 78th reported e-cigarette explosion of 2016, and the yearly total is well on track to surpass the combined total number of explosions in 2014 (38) and 2015 (47) of 85.
