LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESSWIRE / April 28, 2017 / David Ramey, DVM, is pleased to announce the upcoming release of a Chinese Horse Medicine in 1824: Art and History book that will honor a book by author Miao Jize that was written almost two centuries ago.

As a spokesperson for the upcoming book noted, part one of Dr. Ramey’s book will place Jize’s work in the history of China and Chinese horse medicine. Part two will offer a complete English translation of the original text, and the third part will discuss the medicine in Jize’s book in light of the horse medicine of today.

“The book that Jize penned is a work of art, history, and medicine. This book honors the original,” the spokesperson noted, adding that Dr. Ramey intends to emulate the texture and subtlety of the first book’s original rice paper, ink drawings and Chinese lettering.

“The 12 x 6.25 inch landscape format French-folded pages of the original manuscript will be reproduced in 4-color process on a high quality uncoated paper stock.”

In addition, the spokesperson noted, the front matter, back matter and index will be reproduced in two PMS colors on high quality uncoated paper stock that is smoother in texture; this will help it to stand apart from the pages that are a reproduction of the original manuscript. The pages that include the English translation will be smaller than the other pages.

In order to help pay for the many costs associated with finishing up his new book about Chinese Horse Medicine in 1824, Ramey recently launched a fundraiser on Kickstarter. There, he hopes to raise $68,000 through crowdfunding and help teach people about the largely unknown and often misrepresented world of horses.
