TORONTO: Suetables, an original Canadian personalized jewelry and accessories studio that marries age-old crafting techniques and sensibilities with modern design, is opening its second location at 363 Roncesvalles Avenue in November, just in time for the holidays.

“Suetables is one of the only studios in Toronto (and perhaps even North America) that that takes personalization to the next level and allows people to honour their stories, celebrate loved ones and milestones, or express their life’s intentions in such unique and stylish ways,” says founder and designer Sue Henderson who began the business online in 2004 when she couldn’t find a necklace to celebrate her own children, and then opened her first studio on Mt. Pleasant Road in 2016.

“Our new Roncey studio will embody my philosophy that beautiful things cannot be created in mass production,” says Sue. “Along with creating our own collections, we’ll continue to source affordable, fabulous, quality jewelry, accessories (fashion, stationery and home décor) and personalization techniques from talented designers, artisans and craftspeople. “We’re excited to introduce our concept to the Roncey-High Park community, and beyond.”

Suetables new 900 square ft. studio will allow shoppers to customize pieces in a variety of personal and meaningful ways via: a jewelry design bar where you can create one of a kind pieces by mixing and matching charms, semi-precious gemstones and letters or words; artful hand-stamping on high-quality sterling silver,14 carat gold dipped and 10k gold jewelry done right in the window while you wait; custom Style&Soul illustrations (a collaboration between Sue and illustrator Heather LaFleur), that can be featured on an array of fashion and home décor accessories and metal hand-engraving by Canadian David Davidse on Suetables’ exclusive line of charms.

Both locations are curated to house Suetables branded goods and product collaborations with like-minded creators such as hand-made kimonos from Brampton’s ElleMairco, sweaters and hats from Wooden Ships, leather bags from Toronto’s Brave, as well as hand-made and hand painted ceramic jewelry dishes – a collaboration with artisan Elizabeth Denham. Each studio carries an assortment of one of a kind and often exclusive items that can only be shopped in-store.

Suetables is also committed to preserving the environment by making jewelry that respects natural resources and the craftspeople who produce it – working with partners who enforce environmentally safe working conditions and utilize environmentally responsible technologies She is also passionate about working with not-for-profits that are meaningful to her including Wildlife Now, The Special Olympics, Sick Kids Hospital and most recently The Maddie Project and Hanya’s Hope.

Suetables is much-loved by celebrities such as Rachel Skarsten (50 Shades of Grey, Lost Girl, Reign and the face of Suetables for the last three years), Adelaide Kane (Reign), models Coco Rocha, Abbey Lee Kershaw, and Monika Shnarre, Lauren Lee Smith (Frankie Drake, The Listener), Sara Waisglass (Degrassi: The Next Generation) and Enuka Okuma (Rookie Blue) who also had Sue letterpress her bridesmaids’ gifts.
