Low Tide Brewery Celebrates Beer And Food Pairings

The first Johns Island SC brewery was launched in March of 2016 to craft custom beers. The owners collaborate with restaurants and bars in the Low Country to create delicious and unique beers.

Low Tide Brewing and Mike Fielding are pleased to announce that the company makes a unique beer selection designed to connect people and food in a shared environment. Charleston is already recognized for its culinary scene. The brewery brings a few new ideas to the craft beer market. Brewing beer follows a rigid scientific formula, but the ability to obtain charming flavors is an art, rather than a science.

According to Mike Fielding, speaking in a recent interview, “We work with chefs, bartenders, and restaurant owners to create flavors that are truly tailored to either complement or set off a dish or style. The concept of beer plus food pairing is widely known, but giving restaurants the opportunity to work with a brewery at any time to create a unique beer is not conventional. We are happy to show you our process of making beer from grain to glass.

A constantly changing menu of brews is on tap in the tap room. Currently, the options include Gingerly Squeeze My Lemons with subtle lemon and ginger flavors and Blueberry Yum Yum Amber Amber Ale, a moderate, hoppy beer with a distinct blueberry and caramel malty flavor. Other brews feature ingredients and flavors ranging from pineapple to cinnamon to dark chocolate. A Chai spice blend or a pleasant orange blossom brew leading into a piney starfruit flavor mixed in a deep orange color of sweet malt is also available.
