Toronto, Canada – September 17, 2018 /MM-VG/ —
“The Search for Maya” by mother-daughter authors Merav and Ella Richter became in international best seller on Amazon on August 29, 2018. This inaugural book by the two authors shares the story of Maya Rafe, an ordinary 10-year-old girl who has a special friend named Charlie. The problem is, no one except Maya can see or hear Charlie. They all believe he is her imaginary friend. Maya is sure Charlie exists, and sets off to find him. On her search for Charlie, Maya finds so much more.
Co-author Ella had been watching her mom, Merav, write books for all of her life. One night after dinner at a Chinese buffet, she asked to write a book with her. After a meeting of the minds in a Tea-party/Meeting (which then became known as a Tea-ting), they carved out the story and fell in love with the characters. The book became their summertime project and they plan to continue this summer tradition by creating a series of books as the character, Maya, grows up.
“A beautiful and insightful read by a mother-daughter powerhouse. This book is anything but predictable. A beautiful mix of unlimited creativity and childlike curiosity that resulted to a must-read for all ages. It was exciting and riveting, imaginative and full of visceral experiences through words that felt like they were picked from a fragile flower. A new perspective, another level of a soul’s reality. Truly an enjoyable read and will be sharing with the children I work with on the Spectrum.” ~ Amazon book reviewer
As Merav shares, “We wanted to give readers a glimpse into what other people are experiencing and we don’t see, and what it means to be a highly sensitive person. Ella has the perfect perspective to give better insights into the life and mind of a child on the spectrum. What we want is to create a movement of heart-centeredness for highly sensitive people.”
Ella Richter is a 9-year-old student and artist. Merav Richter is an author, advocate and proud mama. This is their first book together. They live with their family, including their dog Lucy, in the wooded hills outside of Toronto.
They will be hosting a live book launch party on September 22, 2018 at FUN-tastic Forest from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm sponsored by Air Canada Foundation to raise funds for Autism Speaks Canada.
