Preparing For Revival in Harrisburg, PA: A Week of Prayer & Fasting Declared

Harrisburg, PA, Sept. 26, 2018 – Pastors & Christian leaders are calling for a week of prayer and fasting from Oct. 5th to 13th by Christians in Central PA. We are calling out to God asking Him to pour out his Spirit on Harrisburg for the revival there the weekend of Oct. 13th and 14th.

Local pastors around Central PA and the International Bible Institute & Learning Center (IBILC) are asking churches, church leaders, prayer groups, bible study groups, and individuals to devote one week in prayer and fasting as God leads, starting Friday, October 5th at sundown and continuing through Saturday, October 13th at sunrise. “In prayer we turn to God. In fasting we turn away from everything else but God,” said Billy Graham’s daughter Anne Graham Lotz in her summer 2015 newsletter.

“We are acting in obedience to the word of the Lord through the prophet Joel (1:13-14):

‘Put on sackcloth, you priests, and mourn; wail, you who minister before the altar. Come, spend the night in sackcloth, you who minister before my God; for the grain offerings and drink offerings are withheld from the house of your God. Declare a holy fast; call a sacred assembly. Summon the elders and all who live in the land to the house of the Lord your God, and cry out to the Lord,’” said IBILC board member Julian Awad, “and we are calling God’s people in Central PA and beyond to cry out to God for revival here in Harrisburg, PA.”

About “Coming Home – Revival 2018”

The Revival will be in the Harrisburg Forum Saturday, October 13th at 1:00 PM and again at 7:00 PM at The Forum Auditorium in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania located in the State Capitol Complex. It is a free event with limited seating, so tickets are required. The revival features worship led by local and national musicians: Love and the Outcome; Curvine Ministries; the Harrisburg Revival Choir with Karen and Thaddeus Gatling, and the Tri-City Youth Choir. The event includes prayer teams for healing, guidance, questions, and concerns. Julian Awad will present a message on the Prodigal Son titled “Coming Home – God can’t wait to have you home!” Doors will open one hour in advance for praise & worship led by Brian Villers. There will be prayer teams for those seeking physical, emotional, or spiritual healing.

Proceeds from the event will support critical mission work in Uganda by the International Bible Institute & Learning Center (IBILC). The IBILC currently helps to build schools and churches and to raise Christian leaders in Uganda via English lessons, Bible study, and vocational training.
