An expert in local marketing talks about the importance of being consistent in every free local business listing created.

Many small business owners understand the importance of creating local business listings, but according to an expert in local marketing, not all of them are aware of the proper way to do it.

He says that even the slightest variation can negatively impact your business’ ability to rank high in the search engine results. For example, using the word “Inc.” in some of your listings and leaving it out on others, or abbreviating some words, such as the word “Street” in your business address on some listings but not others.
