Linkedin coach Jonny Rose has discovered a way to solve the LinkedIn GDPR compliance challenge for B2B businesses that want to maintain effective marketing processes and comply with the new data laws.

GDPR (European General Data Protection Regulation) compliance requires all businesses within the EU and global businesses that hold or process data pertaining to EU citizens to update their processes. The deadline for GDPR compliance was May 25th and since then B2B organisations have faced several problems.

In a bid to seek maximal permissions, organisations have sought double-opt in consent from contacts in their database. This has led to databases being decimated as contacts refused to stay on mailing lists in the run up to May 25th. The problem has been further compounded by the subsequent implementation of GDPR compliant sign up processes which have placed significant challenges in getting web visitors to sign up to lead forms. In short, GDPR compliance has posed a significant challenge to B2B marketers who want to continue to communicate with customers and prospects at the same scale as before.

In a blogpost on his Win At LinkedIn website, Rose reveals how LinkedIn can be used to replace email and marketing automation platforms by leveraging the professional social network and various free software add-ons:

“You no longer need email and marketing automation platforms like Mailchimp, Marketo or Eloqua to send messages to your database of contacts. LinkedIn has wide variety of tools that allow you to send messages and nurture campaigns to all/some/a few of your contacts in one go. Examples of tools that you can use to send emails/nurture campaigns, include: LinkedIn Helper, LinkedProspect and GPZWeb”

According to Rose, Win At LinkedIn’s LinkedIn GDPR compliance strategy is the first of its kind – and allows B2B marketers and salespeople to mass email customers and prospects, in a personalised way, at scale, just like they used to for their email marketing programs.

Win At LinkedIn is a 1-2-1 coaching service for B2B professionals, entrepreneurs and freelancers that want to generate leads, nurture prospects and close deals. The company was established by Jonny Rose in late 2017 – and in its first six months secured clients in the UK, India and North America, including EY, SpendNetwork, Whiteboard Geeks and Growth Hack World. Win At LinkedIn is also a B2B lead generation agency that has to-date generated over 30,000 accepted leads for clients.

Rose concluded: “I’m really excited by this new LinkedIn GDPR compliance strategy. It’s a wide open opportunity for struggling B2B businesses and I look forward to working with client brands that are keen to achieve the same scale and contact rates with as LinkedIn, as they did with email before GDPR.”
