Up North Demo Provides Demolitions In Northern Michigan

March 15, 2019 – – A Northern Michigan company has announced that they have a full staff of demo contractors who are ready to assist with the removal of a number of structures. The company states that they not only have the tools and team to get the job done, but adds that their staff is highly trained in bringing down buildings that are considered unsafe, for a number of reasons.

Kris Wood, a representative for the company says, “Our team is highly trained and experienced in helping businesses, government offices and others to remove buildings that pose a risk to those around them. Unsound buildings that pose a high risk of collapsing are our forte, and we ensure that everyone that works with us has the skills and training needed to ensure the utmost safety throughout the job.”

Wood says that the company accepts jobs of all sizes. He says that when called upon, the company comes in and removes buildings, bringing with them their own wrecking balls, cranes, bulldozers and other equipment to completely level the building and clean up when they are finished.

“We do safe and effective demolition work for a variety of needs,” says Wood. “All of our staff is trained and educated on the safest and most effective way to remove these structures. Whether the building is falling from age or damage or contains asbestos or has other issues, we will safely remove that structure, leaving a clean, open space in its wake.”

Wood says that with the company’s recent popularity for building removal in the Northern Michigan area has led to them upping the ante, so to speak. He says that there are a number of older buildings in the area that contain lead and asbestos, and that these buildings can be dangerous to those who are tearing them down. Because of the evidence of these chemicals, he states that the entire team has been trained and educated on the safest and most effective ways to remove these structures using dust control and other means to ensure that no one is affected by the particles that these dangerous chemicals can emit.

Up North Demo has experienced crews that are continuously trained and educated. Wood states that their education goes beyond the required guidelines that are set forth by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration with regards to building demos. Wood adds that each team member has received the necessary education and training to allow them to complete a high range of projects that may include chemical cleanup, rehabilitation of contaminated sites and other jobs of equal risk.

Asbestos and lead abatement have become cause for concern in a number of older buildings. Wood says that asbestos can pose a risk to those in the structure if and when the particles become airborne. Asbestos has been blamed for a number of illnesses, including mesothelioma, a very aggressive cancer that affects the lungs, abdomen or heart.

Wood adds that removing buildings that have asbestos can be risky. He states that the removal must be done under strict guidelines in order to ensure that these particles do not get released into the air, which could affect anyone in the structure or nearby. He states his team has the knowledge and education of asbestos that is needed to properly and safely demolish a building that may have asbestos in the ceiling, floor tiles or outdoor shingles.

Wood states that anyone who believes that their building may have asbestos should contact them immediately. Testing can be done to ensure if this chemical is present and if the building is found to have asbestos and needs to be torn down, Wood states that the company can work out the plan for safely demolishing the building without releasing asbestos fibers into the air.
