More than one-half of the states that were tested recently for lead contaminations in public schools received a failing grade, according to a new report from the Environment America Research & Policy Center and the U.S. Public Interest Research Group Education Fund.
As reported by WVUE-TV, the Fox television affiliate in New Orleans, La., and other media outlets, 22 of the 32 states where testing was conducted received an “F.” Among the states receiving a failing grade were Michigan, where the well-publicized Flint water crisis occurred, Texas, Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Massachusetts.
