First Annual Upstate NY Family Business Day scheduled for September 2019

Upstate NY Family Business Day Symposium to celebrate local family business, featuring three nationally recognized family business consultants.

The Upstate New York Family Business Group has designated September 24, 2019 for the First Annual Upstate New York Family Business Day Symposium. The symposium will be a regional event that features 3 nationally recognized family business consultants.

The Upstate New York Family Business Day Symposium (UNYFBDS) event was created to support the life blood of the Upstate NY economy – family owned businesses. The UNYFBDS will take at the RIT Inn and Conference Center in Henrietta, NY. The featured speakers at this year’s UNYFBDS are Jeff Savlov of Blum and Savlov: Family Business and Wealth Consulting, Cathy Carroll of Legacy Onward and Michael Palumbos of Family Wealth and Legacy.

The annual event will kick off on Tuesday, September 24th, 2019. Seminars and workshops will continue throughout the day, from 10am to 5 pm. Mr. Savlov will bring his acclaimed and highly interactive workshop, What Your Family Business Can Learn From the Rock Band Metallica, to this year’s symposium. Jeff’s workshop is chock full of great examples of the challenges business families face (or are blind to). Cathy Carroll’s highly anticipated talk, Greater Profits, Through Greater Performance: How to develop the next generation of leaders in the family business, focuses on the journey of leadership development that you don’t learn in the classroom or on the job. Michael Palumbos’, The Four Decisions of Business Growth and How Family Businesses can Leverage Them, dives into the four critical decisions every business owner must focus on then shares ways that family businesses can either leverage these decisions or be hindered by them.
