Randy Hood, partner at McGowan, Hood, & Felder, LLC, has been named the 2019 recipient of the Matthew J. Perry Public Service Award. The award is presented by the South Carolina Association for Justice.

The Matthew J. Perry Public Service Award is issued annually by the South Carolina Association for Justice (SCAJ). It was named for Matthew J. Perry, the first African American U.S. District Court Judge for the state of South Carolina. Perry spent countless hours advocating for civil rights and equality, and helped lead the fight for desegregation in his home city of Columbia, South Carolina.
