GoPhilanthropic Travel Company announces its upcoming philanthropic trip to India this September for a rare look at empowerment programs supporting vulnerable women and children.

GoPhilanthropic Founder —Lydia Dean will be guiding an in-depth trip to India to offer a rare glance at the important challenges facing India today: educating an ever-growing margin of underprivileged and exploited children and empowering women and girls in rural villages who lack basic human rights. This philanthropic tour will take place on September 22nd-October 3rd,2015 and will weave through New Delhi, Pune and rural villages surrounding Kolhapur visiting significant Gandhian sites. Travelers will have the unique opportunity to visit the brick kilns where children are still forced into bonded labor and meet with inspiring organizations and community leaders who are succeeding at preventing child labor, driving change and building better futures for vulnerable women and children.

Group participants will have the chance to meet several of the inspiring and courageous change-makers in India who are introduced in GoPhilanthropic Founder Lydia Dean’s recently published book—Jumping the Picket Fence: A Woman’s Search from the Suburbs to the Slums.

“The global experiences we offer at GoPhilanthropic Travel offer people a completely fresh and ‘real’ approach to travel and to philanthropy—said Lydia Dean, founder of GoPhilanthropic Travel Company. They provide the opportunity for people to learn and see for themselves, to hear the stories directly from the people who run these important programs day in and day out. We then offer the chance to play a part in that change —form a much more informed perspective.”

GoPhilanthropic Travel works in close collaboration with GoPhilanthropic Foundation— a US based non-profit that helps small grassroots programs to stand on their own. Providing both financial grants and capacity building support, it was born out of a desire to get away from the traditional check-writing charity to a more active and engaged philanthropy based on relationships and a shared commitment to growth within communities around the world. GoPhilanthropic Travel functions as a separate philanthropic travel company providing a platform for global learning and a vehicle to connect with the programs GoPhilanthropic Foundation supports.
